How the catalogue score works
The displayed score is a normalised ordering signal derived from upstream score and rating fields. It is not a verified discount, price-history, quality or suitability score.
Methodology updated:
-
Catalogue scope
This US catalogue contains 499 eligible consumer brand records with 4 category routes. Records must have USD currency and a usable destination; US restrictions and integrity holds take precedence. Gambling, adult-creator, finance, investing-trading and insurance feeds are excluded. Duplicate slugs prefer a USD record; restrictions from any consumer-feed appearance win. Category routes need at least three eligible records.
-
Input scaling
Each usable upstream score or rating is mapped to /10: values up to 5 are doubled, values up to 10 are unchanged, and values up to 100 are divided by 10. Non-positive, non-finite and out-of-range inputs are unusable.
-
Combination and ceiling
When both mapped fields exist, the result is 70% score and 30% rating. A lone score is multiplied by 0.9; a lone rating by 0.82. The app rounds to two decimals and caps the internal result at 9.6. Missing usable inputs produce zero.
-
Order and de-duplication
The US catalogue first applies its USD and country-restriction rules. Supplied tracked offers with headlines appear first, followed by tracked links and other catalogue records. Within those groups, records sort by the calculated score, then name. Duplicate slugs prefer a USD appearance; a US restriction in any appearance wins.
-
What the score does not establish
The app does not derive this score from current product prices, price history, coupon success, seller identity, returns, warranty, safety, quality or personal suitability. It is a catalogue ordering signal, not proof that an item or offer is a bargain.
-
Source and freshness limits
The upstream methodology is not established here. Brand traits and links can become stale, so check the merchant and use the dated buying guides for a repeatable decision process.
Straight answers
Does a high score prove a current discount is genuine?
No. The app has no complete product-level price-history calculation in this score. Verify the exact item, reference price and delivered total separately.
What happens when score data is missing?
A brand with no usable score or rating input receives zero in the local calculation and sorts below positive results within the same placement group.
